We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Designer to join our passionate and talented design team to support delivering globally recognised OTT streaming products here at FX Digital.

Working across the media and sports sectors, you will be responsible for conducting and reporting on user-centred design research and usability testing, crafting intuitive user experiences that shape the future of OTT. You will be part of a growing team and have a passion for professional development with a commitment to teamwork.

This is a full-time role based out of our office in Old Street, London. We can only consider applicants who are able to work 3 days per week from the office.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Work closely with the head of design to scope new projects and improve our processes.
  • Collaboratively run discovery workshops that help define product briefs and set a creative vision for new projects.
  • Have strategic conversations with clients and cross-functional teams discussing the user journey of products and creative direction.
  • Provide mentorship and support to the design team, helping team members to up-skill and develop in their roles.
  • Championing the product design process in the organisation

User Research

  • Run user research projects to support our product and design teams in making informed strategic decisions on OTT solutions.
  • Source users matching our clients target audience, run surveys and user interviews to dig deep into users goals, motivations and frustrations. Map out these insights to craft user personas.
  • Gather insights through workshops, user interviews, competitor analysis, user testing and other techniques to help inform product & UX decisions. Collate your findings and research to present these back to internal teams and project stakeholders.
  • Review our client’s OTT analytics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), take learnings from historic data and identify where there are areas for improvements within the experience.

User Experience Design

  • Define the information architecture for our client’s OTT solutions. You plan, organise and run various research activities (Card sorting, tree testing) to propose an intuitive information Architecture for projects.
  • Create detailed and inclusive user flows highlighting key journeys and steps, but also understanding best/worst cases scenarios to ensure a comprehensive picture of the solution is being depicted.
  • Create wireframes and interactive prototypes for OTT solutions that span across mobile, web and Connected TV devices.
  • Plan and manage user testing and interviews to gather feedback on your proposed solutions. Collate, summarise and analyse your findings to propose concepts and feature ideas to improve the user experience.
  • Ensure our solutions meet accessibility standards providing an OTT experience for an inclusive audience, but also look into what could/should be done from an accessibility point of view on TV to push the boundaries on this front.
  • Take a holistic view in your work, think about the bigger picture and how users interact across multiple devices and how these OTT products integrate into the everyday lives of users whilst also being mindful of the business needs and objectives.

User Interface Design

  • Create beautiful user interfaces and design systems that set a new standard in the OTT space.
  • Design scalable design systems from scratch, as well as work with brands who have pre-defined design systems and evolve these within your work.
  • Creating early-stage concepts for new streaming products & pitches
  • Designing UI animations for core interactions for streaming products.
  • Review App builds and launches with the QA team through the lens of design.

What do we expect from you?

  • Minimum 6+ Year experience in Product Design
  • Experience mentoring design team members
  • You have proven experience working in user research and user experience (preferably in an agency environment).
  • You have strong problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • You're comfortable communicating with project stakeholders, articulating solutions that are backed up by research and solid rationale.
  • You demonstrate high-quality UX & UI design practices.
  • You're self-motivated, proactive and are someone who thrives off autonomy.
  • You have impeccable attention to detail with an inquisitive mindset.
  • You're a team player that supports those around you. You have the ability to work seamlessly with multifunctional teams across product, research, engineers, QA, operations and customers.
  • You are comfortable working across various disciplines, including user research, UX and UI.
  • You have an interest in technology, consumer behaviour, Connected devices, OTT & streaming.

Desirables → Nice to haves :)

  • UX Qualification (General Assembly, Brain Station, Bachelor's degree) or equivalent
  • You're a Figma pro and a rapid prototype. You're someone that's not afraid to pick up new tools to take on varying design challenges.
  • Relevant design experience with OTT apps (Connected Devices/Smart TV
  • Relevant design experience with native mobile apps (iOS & Android)
  • Experience working with and maintaining design systems
  • Experience with Gitlab & Notion
  • Motion design experience
